By Dawn Lehman

Mather LifeWays Institute on Aging is launching a national campaign to identify and catalogue promising practices developed in organizations that have participated in the LEAP and PREPARE training programs. The goal of this initiative is to learn "what is working" and "how it is working" from organizations that have experienced success through their training.

Every organization that completes the application will:

  • Receive a free National Promising Practices Report
  • Receive a subscription to the Mather LifeWays aging in action e-Newsletter
  • Receive a Mather LifeWays Orange paper and PowerPoint presentation, entitled "Toward Cultural Competence in Nursing Care of Older Residents," that discusses cultural competency in organizations

Two LEAP and two PREPARE winners (each with first place and second place awards) will:

  • Be featured in the National Promising Practices Report
  • Be profiled on the Mather LifeWays website
  • Have a press release about their award sent to their local newspapers
  • Receive a plaque distinguishing the winners as leaders
  • Receive a Mather LifeWays Institute on Aging toolkit
  • Be invited to participate in a panel discussion at a well-respected conference

Award application deadline: Friday, March 13.
