On Thursday and Friday, September 24 and 25, the California Respite Association will host the annual National Lifespan Respite Conference in Burbank, California. The deadline for paper submissions is Thursday, March 26.
The conference is geared toward respite professionals, providers, advocates, families, and consumers from all over the United States. It is being hosted in conjunction with the ARCH National Respite Network.

These sessions cover topics that offer tools to help assess the effectiveness of service design, identify how to perform caregiver background checks and electronic survey options, and processes that help implement changes in service.
Conference sessions will cover overviews of the latest respite research, applications for program development funding, and innovations in fundraising, risk management, and strategic planning.
Sessions cover model programs, respite-related disaster preparedness tools, local and regional collaborations during disaster strikes, and disaster-related special needs.
Sessions include national and state advocacy, coalition building techniques and practices, and lifespan summits.
These sessions will include case studies of successful examples of respite care, crisis nurseries, and innovative services.
