Larry Minnix, president and CEO of the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA), recently sat down for an interview with McKnight’s. In the interview, he recognized that economic times are tough, but that the challenges faced were not insurmountable, saying “We believe that the problems that we face are solvable. Not that they’re easy but they’re solvable, and we’ve got to solve them.”
According to Minnix, long-term care providers know how to handle these tough economic circumstances. However, going forward, he suggested that the long-term care industry will need to revolutionize the way it finances care delivery and that the need of acquiring necessary capital to update, renovate, and implement culture change is not going away.
