    Learning…To Age Well

    At Mather LifeWays, we encourage lifelong learning among employees.  We offer a program that reimburses up to $100 to pursue non-degree courses—anything that contributes to physical, social, intellectual, vocational, emotional, or spiritual wellness.  Examples include:

    •  Childbirth Preparation Classes

    Brown Bag Lunch Series

    These are peer-led education sessions offered over lunch and topics have included:

    • BrainWorks

    Fun Squad

    The Culture Team promotes an employee culture of respect, fun, and wellness and reinforces the mather experience (me!).  The mather experience is defined as giving and receiving “WOW” customer service and demonstrating the organization’s values of compassion, integrity, relationships based on respect, commitment, lifelong engagement, and excellence. 

     

    Innovation in Workforce Development

    The Mather LifeWays Institute on Aging develops nationally recognized, award winning, and innovative staff development training such as:

    • LEAP (Learn, Empower, Achieve, Produce) is a comprehensive workforce development program developed by Mather LifeWays that empowers staff, increases retention, and promotes staff-resident relationships through a model of person-centered care. 
    • PREPARE equips senior living and long-term care professionals with the core competencies to address the medical and psychosocial consequences of natural disasters and other public health emergency preparedness and response concerns.
